What does any one think to my new winch:confused::)I will mount it on my plant trailer to winch things on to it with,it was 15.99 and i am most pleased with it,i hope to tear a body in half using its extream power some day:)

Hi Sean ,Looks wonderfull :). And what backwater chinnese provence was it built .At that price it cetainly can't be made outa good british steel . Ian .

my mate has one on his trailer, its a good bit of kit, you sure you aint making some kind of rack for the new members? :confused:

Yea I need a winch like that over the bed to lift me on and off ,then in and out of the bed ,they never be long enough for the stairs would they?

Stock,my winch is capabel of stretching out over 65 feet,so unless you have stupidly long stairs,yes it could cope.:p

That big pulley on that old Cat would be like being a hunch back, bloody thing'd allways be in the way.

Its a Fowler, with Vickers Winch that was used at Rugby hauling aerial cables at the radio place.

I like the fact it has a history and that it's documented. I must admit i looked at the grille and thought it was an old Caterpillar. Duhr. I can see the Fowler from the rear but the cat from the grille.

Does look very Cat like from the front.

I like it when people at the shows take the time to actually give people info on the machines. Otherwise its just another yellow Cat crawler or grey Fergi or green Lister/Petter etc to most visitors.

Thats part of the beauty of this (and other forums) you learn from others a lot about all the variations and different models built. Its alot cheaper than books and magazines as well and they dont know it all.
