this machine is made by Mcelroy in america ,and is one of a pair the Docwras purchased early last year ,we were one of the first gangs to use it on a job in basingstoke ,it is a great machine and makes welding larger pipe much easier ;) ,it will do upto 500mm pipe and is all self contained
unlike the usual way of doing it
cost was around 50k

we are on 500 at the minute in bolton.no butt fusion using sockets .warmup soak weld then 35mins cooling in all 1hr 10min a weld the day drags.andy

yes it does make a long day ,i think from memory its around 40 mins a joint on 355mm ,is that a water job your on

no its not water gas were on a alter divert medium pressure main.gallagers are in the same track doin the water 315 i think will get some pics.andy

at bit more info on the machine ,Docwras also have a 900mm machine
