The virtual stuff is a waste of time and not at all realistic. The only good way to learn is get yer arse on a real machine with a good operator teacher.

Depends on the severity of the mistakes Dan ....... :D

Two of our fitters tried the Volvo simulator at Hill head. It was a complete load of Bollo. If you tried to pull the bucket in close to clear up the simulator nose dived the device and you failed the test ..... both those lads operate our excavators from 3 tonnes to 40 tonnes Bulk loading and 46 tonne twenty two metre long reach machines ...... expertly ... ;) nothing like the real thing ...!!
