Your Converting it to an Orchard special for fruit picking.

Could be a bit unstable if cut down to 4 ft wide & body capacity might be abit low for weight

I'm still waiting to see what comes of it, but my suggestion is to increase the weight of the volunteer at the tailgate, increase the hydraulic pressure to the max (just shy of bursting the cylinders) and hit the lever. Voila, a trebuchet or catapult.

Is it for carring some form of slurry from a wash plant, or tunnelling plant etc!

26-08-2010, 09:45 AM
Cps, pretty much hit the nail. Silt carrying. We have to make the tail gate after a fitting today. It has to have a locking mechanism based on the volvo underslung tailgate closing device. I will post some more pictures this evening. We are building two and probably at least 3.

:D:D:D I was right, Good luck with it, had to fit sealed tail gates to A25 c and ds with a company i worked for, not easy done, that being said we were sent at 7am to fit a battered tail gates, water tight for the low loader coming in at 9-10am:mad:
Just a side note for you, we were using a type of thick foam sheeting pasted on the tail gate to seal were it met the body, work well if you used the prober paste/adtesive! You might aready have that part sorted!

Cps We are just in the process of manufacturing the tailgates. Thanks for the info on sealing. We are going to use linatex strips on the tail gates. The tailgate that is shown has now been taken off. The new units will have piano type hinges made from tube and 30mm round bar.
