i have noticed a big surge in small scaffold co,s using transits round these parts with 6 leaf rear springs to tout their business , overloaded to fuck , DVSA can,t catch the easy targets let alone...

every operator i know has nearly new , with 6 weekly inspections and still go for testing / roadworthy , to many in the game for unreliable old shitters now ;)

put some pressure on with the bar you have , then give the housing where the ball joint goes through a swift clout with a good hammer , leave the nut on a bit so you do not fly when it goes

Usually join the new to the old and pull through , or tie a piece of rope on and try to pull it back
