Default Industrys FKD

As we have known for a while....

Offered to price a job today either on volume or just hourly rate of a 210 and operator without fuel (40 per hour) to be told that the landowner wants to hire us on a day rate to drive another persons 18t machine.....

He can hire the 18t for around 200 per week.... fkn suicidal rates!

Likewise been told this week that the environment agency want Waste transfer notes and U1 permits for recycled material that has been crushed, graded and tested (full analysis) and declared clean.

Oh and supposedly they are trying to kill off the U1 Permit also....

I see trouble ahead.... we are busy till easter with good work but to be very blunt the industry seems to be fucked.... time to leave?

Does it belong to a farmer who says he can deliver it to site with a tractor and low loader for a drink by any chance?

Let the customer drive the machine himself. He'll get the job done and keep all his hard earned in the bank. That way you get to do something worth while with your time and he gets to wear out someone's else's machine whist finishing his job to a top quality standard.

I assume you told him where to go? No point being a busy fool and loosing the opportunity to earn more driving your 1.5t for someone.
At least you know where to hire a cheap 18tonner from now
