Heres a few pictures of the job were at this week. Were digging a soakaway out of a septic tank threw ROCK. Most of it had to be hammered out but there was the odd bit that pulled out with the ripper toe.

Yet more brilliant work

Was the rock expected or was that an expensive hindrance?

Naw we knew it was there strott. There was a section was a lot harder than we expected thow bt there was other bits just pulled up nicely with the ripper toe so all in all it wasn't that bad. But I'm pretty sure it was an expensive hinderence for someone but as we were on by the hour it won't affect my bank account. Lol

We can't be perfect all the time diggerjones. It was marked out with blue spray paint prior to our arrival by a site foreman and feild owner to avoid the hardest rock spots. Lol it had a slight turn on it to go in the direction of the tank. Someone more fussy possibly would of put a slight 15 degree bend but we cheated and pulled the pipes around the corner as th turn wasn't that severe. Wouldn't know much about being in a cab in that weather. I was demoted to let the old man take the seat. I would feel guilty sitting up in a cab with the heater on looking out at da's puppy dog eyes in the cold anyway!!!

ive never had to encounter rock like that.all i get is rock hard yellow clay with huge flints that can punture tyres easily.we often bend 6m lengths of pipe over a long length and have gone through 90 degrees over several lengths.seems pretty common about here.

Was heavy goin alright Aiden. It's between portglenone and ahoghill. Naw we haven't got up round ardboe yet. Doubt we'll get back up this season now bloody rain is a nightmare. Never saw fields as wet before. The zaxis is sawing hedges on barley ground outside randelstown. Least it doesnt matter much about making tracks cause the field has to be ploughed again. And the previous pics with the fh130 digging the hill off for a new house was took between Mossley and greenisland. So unfortunately not all our work is close to home.
