Default JCB 8014 head gasket

I just had the head gasket blow on my 8014 at least that is what I suspect as it bubbles the water really fast and pressurises the Radiator blowing out the water and steam. Just wondered how much of a job it is and are there any pitfalls to check out for. If its a straight forward job I will do the water pump, radiator and thermostat while its down.

Possibly, just possibly, might be a dead thermostat.

I bought a Ransomes 3250 mower with a cooked head, after much messing around it seems the original cause was a dud thermostat. It opened, but only fully or not at all, caused similar symptoms to your digger. The mower only had 270 hours on it, must have been like it since new.
