Engcon Big Dig Day - Saturday 21st July 2018

Hello All

One for the diary - venue is NorthWest Services training area in Ashton-in-Makerfield (nr.Wigan).

The format will be similar to the Beast from the East at Tewkesbury back in the beginning of March, only without the snow (hopefully). Plenty of different makes and sizes of diggers (Ducks and Tracked) with a variety of different control systems. More info to follow as we get the diggers confirmed.

Many of the twin hitch setups will have EC-Oil on them

Without making myself a hostage to fortune, as well as many of the UK Engcon team and some of our Service Partners, a lot of the owners or operators will be present to offer opinions and advice as well Based on our experience at Tewkesbury, many of the visitors found it a good networking event and hung around to chat to each other. If you haven't tried a tilty before - now's your chance; no-one will be judging you and we've all started from the same place.

All of the machines will be available to try - hopefully something for everyone and there is a large digging area (a lot bigger than at Tewkesbury).

There will also be some seriously stupid show offers on the day.

Food provided and access from the motorway is really good: a couple of minutes from M6 northbound Jn26. Plenty of parking. Suncream and umbrellas suggested, Hi-Vis and safety footwear required

I'd just like to say a big thanks to robert and the rest of his team putting this event together. It must have cost a few quid and I hope you got some orders from it.
From a personal point of veiw it was very interesting, having several machines there and being able compare systems as well as talk to the blokes that own/drive them daily really was fascinating. My only regret was I couldn't stop long because of other commitments, I could have stayed there all day and loved every second.

Also got to put a face to a couple of forum members which is always nice.

Always good to put a name to a face and have a chance to put the world to rights.

Also a big shout out to all the owner ops who lent us their machines for the day - Shaun (Gratman) was there and took a lot of time to talk with potential tilty owners about his experiences, along with Darren Hague, Aimee (Duckgirl) Pooley and Owen Mays.

I'll be in touch separately about the options we spoke about Steve.

We'll start planning the next one for the Autumn..............

In the light of Ollie's comment on the 'New Forum' thread, I've uploaded some piccies of the day in question.

Nick - we will get round to East Anglia, I promise. Not sure whether it will be this year as we have quite a tight schedule and these things are not cheap to stage.

Doing one in Canada may well be seen as an act of foreign aggression by my American cousins, but I will try and put a good word in with Joanna in the Hartford CT office.

Sorry about the iffy photos - our guys are better at digging.....

We might have access to a good chunk of land that can be dug up here in Manitoba in order to host a show and we have those 'wide open spaces' after all.
