Strange you should ask ian. I spotted a Kommie 65 southbound today on a brand new set of running gear, quite obviously fresh out of a workshop and thought about this thread and Trax's machine.

Graham, funny you should ask. After another period of stalemate the cheeky bastards have just told us they have been offered 14K for the machine as it stands. I am going to take an engine specialist whom has been made known to us, to look at the engine. We have to now take it legal. We have bought three new excavators and three S/h ones, two dozers and one dumptruck since this stupid episode began...... none of them Komatsu. Who's losing out .... ?
Not us.

Hi Trax,I've just found this thread.
Having followed many of your opinions and comments on this board I believe you to be an imformed and knowledgable sort of chap so I am inclined to back you with your almost unbelievable saga of disgusting treatment by M....Komatsu.They should have proved it not to be their fault or proved it to be yours, not simply abandon the problem like a child. As for leaving the tractor in that condition with the carcass left open to the elements is mind blowing to say the least.
I've owned 10 x dozers since 1989 and everyone was and still is a Cat.I get excellent parts service from my local Finnings Winsford branch and last week I snapped an eq bar on an old D8 they said they would weld it up or build me a new one if I wanted overnight. That's good service.
For the record I picked up a second hand one from a dealer that afternoon but at least the Cat dealer had the imediate solution to my problem if I wanted it.
I think you should sell your Komatsu kit out of principle and stick to Cat and Volvo.
Good luck with this problem

I don't know what it is but i've allways been a person that gets satisfaction from having a good laugh and getting on with people. In just the same vain helping people with problems and getting them out of the shit, quite literaly in many cases as we are known for machine rescue from bogs and especialy silt lagoons. I have some 50 tonne bonds and many heavy chains, and five 150 mill thick excavator mats 5x1 metre. We have taken blades off dozers in order to move them within the hour. Dozers, minus blades, off our own jobs, in the past, in order to tow out stricken machines. My view is, for whatever reason your in the shit you'll need help. A challenge over come makes the day for all cocerned. Sad thing is when ever we are in the shit we seem to have to get our own paddles out. I have repaired machines well into the early hours for ourseves and others. Dealers that shut the doors at 5.30 and wont help until 8 the next morning are a waste of time.
We are in the process of rebuilding two D58P Komatsus in order to sell them. I will only have two 210s two D65PX and one D31s left to sell or scrap.
As i have said before, I have now bought 10 other machines non Komatsu since this saga began, including three brand new Volvos, and just looking at a new EC380D, like i said who's loosing now.

Trax,
Ive just been reading through your thread and hope you get this sorted out, theres certainly a lot of money involved ! Does any one know why the crank become unservicable after such a short period. I presume it was bent or twisted ? In which case would have been so from new ?

I wonder if they've realise theyve lost your custom.

Anyways best of luck.

Trouble is the MD (PR) has small man syndrome, allegedly...... No brain whatsoever for customer relations.
A power tripper know nothing, allegedly.......... and this from his own staff. They don't even know what they're fitters are up too, even after fitting tracking equipment on the service vans.
They are much cheaper out of hours ........ so i have heard
