Default Excavator inspection

A contact remarked to us some time ago that he had searched the Internet for advice purchasing a used excavator, the search was using differing phrases but all referred to hydraulic excavator.

Much to his irritation many results came up with wheeled loading shovels some even were describing tractor faults, details described such points of checking fan belt tensions – check for hose abrasion’s to mention just a couple of instances.

Much of what our contact complained about was indeed justified, inspecting an excavator for purchase takes time but who is really interested in how tight the fan belts are!!!! If there loose tighten them.

He commented “88 or 188 inspection points are not so interesting, tell us what to look for plain and simple”
To this end we at have made a series of short animations explaining the major areas of concern, we can not claim that this is 100% fool proof however its free just go to the following YouTube links.

Comments welcome.
